UPDATE: AT THIS TIME, I AM NOT CURRENTLY WRITING ANY RESUMES.
If you have ever shopped around for a resume writing service, you know how incredibly expensive even a basic resume can cost. But what happens if you are just starting out and don’t have much money to spend? Or what if you are trying to get back on your feet after a long period of unemployment and the thought of spending hundreds on a resume is utterly depressing, especially if you don’t have money for rent or food? That’s where I come in.
I initially started writing $50 resumes as a way to help friends and family with little money get ahead in the job market. My plan was to eventually up my prices to better match the thousands of other services out there, but after writing a few dozen resumes, I realized that I could easily make this a profitable business by only charging $50 a pop. Plus, only charging this small amount would allow me to continue to help people who truly needed it. The way I see it, it is a win-win.
Plus, despite the fact that I only charge $50 per resume, I customize the style and coloring to best match your personality as well as the type of position you will be applying for. In addition, I like to include an inspirational quote on my resumes, usually from my client’s favorite book or movie. I’ve done everything from Harry Potter to Star Trek to Rocky Horror Picture Show. This helps your potential employer get to know you a bit better and often leads to some fun conversation during an interview. If you would like to view some examples of some of the resumes I have written for people, go here and take a look-see.
Also, regardless of what “experts” say, the majority of major employers still require a cover letter when applying for a position. Therefore, in addition to $50 resumes, I also offer $15 cover letters. While I can do any kind of cover letter, my favorite type are ones that are either humorous or unique in order to gain the attention of the reader. Cover letters are generally boring, hence the aforementioned experts saying they should be eliminated, so giving the employer something to pique their interest is just one more tool to help you secure an awesome job.
Both the resume and cover letter will be delivered in either Microsoft Word or Google Docs format. This allows my clients to modify their resume and cover letter as they see fit. I will also teach them to export their documents as a PDF, which is the most professional way to send a resume to an employer.
I currently take Paypal, cash, or check as payment, or I may be willing to trade/barter. To pay via credit card/Paypal, please fill out this form. Alternatively, if you would like to chat with me first, you can contact me here. Drop me a note and let’s talk.
